Political Science Club

Socrates once said, “Democracy is only as good as the education that surrounds it.” That’s where the political science club comes in. We’re here to help you cut through the theatre of politics and get down to what’s really happening. Our goal is to provide a space where you can unbiasedly learn about political affairs and ideologies as well as learn how to unbiasedly research political news so that you can make informed political decisions and so that you can rationally form your own political opinions. Every year we’ll learn about, dissect, and discuss many different political concepts including socialism, conservatism, liberalism, and many more. In analyzing and discussing these concepts, we’ll learn about political history, patterns in human thought, and the reasons certain political events come about. We’ll have guest speakers, Q&As, competitions for prizes, and elections to appoint club officials! We’ll also meet on a weekly basis every Monday and spend time at the beginning of each meeting to discuss current political news. No one will be forced to do anything they don’t want to do in this club and if you simply want to join and chill during meetings, that’s totally fine. No matter where you stand on the political spectrum, anyone is allowed to join!
